Your license comes with a year’s worth of updates. Once that year is up, you can keep using your last version of Sketch for as long as you want, without Cloud access — or you can renew again for more updates.

Here’s what you need to know about your Sketch license, based on the questions we get asked the most. If you don’t find your question answered below, feel free to contact us.
Buying a Sketch license for the first time will cost $99 USD and include a year’s worth of updates. Education pricing and volume discounts are also available.
If you’re renewing your license, the cost of renewal will depend on how many existing seats you have and how many seats you want to renew:
Quantity | 1 | 2 - 9 | 10 - 19 | 20 - 49 | 50+ |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Price per seat | $69 USD | $64 USD | $59 USD | $54 USD | $49 USD |
You can also add new seats to an existing license. The price of each new seat depends on the quantity of seats you are adding, and the time remaining on your license:
Quantity | 2 - 9 | 10 - 19 | 20 - 49 | 50+ |
---|---|---|---|---|
Price per seat | $89 USD | $79 USD | $69 USD | $59 USD |
The prices above are based on adding seats to a brand new license. You can use the calculator on our pricing page to simulate the cost based on how much time is left on your license.
Your license is valid for a year from the date you purchase it. For example, if you purchase your license on 5th April, 2018, you’ll get regular updates to Sketch until 5th April, 2019. To receive updates after that date, you’ll need to renew your license.
An active Sketch license also enables you to upload your documents to our Sketch Cloud service.
If you don’t want to renew your license after it expires, you can continue to use the version of Sketch that you have, for as long as you want, but you won’t be able to receive any further updates. You will no longer be able to upload new documents to Sketch Cloud but you can still sign in to Sketch Cloud to view, comment on, and download documents. Any documents you previously uploaded will stay on Cloud until you choose to remove them. If you decide you want to renew at a later date, that’s fine — you’re welcome back at any time.
We split up Sketch releases into regular updates and bug-fix updates. You’ll always be entitled to a bug-fix update for your last version, even after your license has expired.
